Conference Sponships
Democratic education, by its nature, is a grassroots movement which values environments that put the learner at the centre of their educational experience. To ensure that passionate educators, students, and advocates can participate regardless of financial barriers, ADEC offers a sponsorship program to support attendance at our conferences and international democratic events. This initiative helps make democratic education more accessible by covering some of the costs associated with attending.
Eligibility
Applicants must be:

An ADEC member or part of an ADEC member school

A tertiary student studying education, recommended by an ADEC member or member school
-
A community member recommended by an ADEC member or member school.
The sponsorship can go towards:

APDEC July 2025 – Indonesia

Funding: $1,000

Closing Date: May 31, 2025
ADEC October 2025 – Gold Coast, Australia

Funding: $300 – $900 (depending on location)

Sponsorship Application Process

Submit Your Application
Complete the online application form via Google Forms. Ensure you provide all required details and supporting information. -
Application Review
Two ADEC committee members (who are not directly related to or employed at your school) will assess your application based on the selection criteria. They will then make recommendations to the broader committee. -
Candidate Interviews
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to an online interview with an ADEC panel to discuss their application further. -
Final Decision & Notification
Approximately one week after the application closing date, we will notify applicants if they are proceeding to the interview stage. -
Rolling Application Process
If all sponsorships are not allocated in the first round, applications will continue to be reviewed on a rolling basis. If you are submitting an application after the closing date, please contact ADEC to confirm whether sponsorships are still available.
