About the Event
The ADEC Conference 2026 will be hosted by Kinma School in Terrey Hills, Sydney, from Friday 25 September to Sunday 27 September 2026.
Beginning with a shared dinner on Friday evening, the conference continues with two full days of workshops, presentations and community connection. Set within Kinma's beautiful natural environment, participants will enjoy a nature-rich, reflective and creative space designed to inspire learning, dialogue and collaboration.
We are delighted to welcome keynote speaker Nikki Brunker, university professor and long-term Kinma mentor and teacher, who will share her insights into democratic education and its place in contemporary schools.
Workshop topics will include democracy in action, report writing, children's parliament and other practical and thought-provoking aspects of democratic and progressive education. Participants will also have the opportunity to experience Kinma's unique environment through bushwalking, shared meals and informal community gatherings.
